Bangalore Metro Routes
As of 2021, there are two Namma Metro routes in operation– the Green Line (North-South corridor) and the Purple Line (East-West corridor). Given below is the Namma Metro map showing both the routes and the stations on each line:
Green Line Metro Route
The Green Line of Namma Metro covers about 30.5 km. It connects Silk Institute in the southern part of the city with Nagasandra in the northwestern portion.
Jayanagar, JP Nagar, Majestic, Yeshwanthpur, Peenya, Rajaji Nagar, Majestic, and Lalbagh are some of the main stations on the Green Line.

Purple Line Metro Route
The Purple Line of Namma Metro, which covers around 25.72 km, connects Kengeri (South-West Bangalore) with Baiyyappanahalli (Eastern Bangalore).

Due to the pandemic, Bangalore Metro is operating with reduced running time. The current Namma Metro timings for both Green and Purple lines are as follows:

Bangalore Metro Phase 1
The construction of Bangalore Metro Phase 1 is already complete. The routes on Green and Purple lines under Phase 1 are fully operational. Given below are the details of Phase 1.

Bangalore Metro Phase 2
The Bangalore Metro Phase 2 involves the extension of Purple and Green lines and the construction of two new lines, namely the Yellow Line and the Pink Line.
The Yelachenahalli – Silk Institute route (Green Line extension) under Bengaluru Metro Phase 2 has already been completed and inaugurated.
The Mysore Road – Challaghatta route (Purple Line extension) under Bangalore Metro Phase 2 has also been completed. The route is operational from August 29, 2021. Please note that currently, the last station on the route is Kengeri. The metro station at Challaghatta will be operational only in 2023.

You can get a Bangalore metro smart card by following the steps given below:
· Visit the nearest Namma metro railway station.
· Go to the ticket counter.

Step 1: Download the official Namma Metro app. Currently, only the Android version is available.
Step 2: Open the app > Click on the Top Up icon > You will be asked to register on the app through mobile OTP verification.
Step 3: Enter your mobile number > Get OTP > You will receive the OTP on your mobile number > Enter OTP.
Step 4: The registration screen will appear. Enter your name > Enter your email ID > Click on the Save button.
Step 5: The home screen will appear > Click on the Top Up icon > Click on the Add Card button to add your Namma Metro smart card details.

What is the validity of the Bangalore Metro card?
