TS Ration Card – How To Get Food Security Card In Telangana

A ration card in Telangana is also called a food security card. This card entitles people belonging to the poorer classes of society to buy food grains and kerosene at a subsidized rate from the Public Distribution System. A TS ration card can also act as identity proof for availing of other government services.

There are three different categories under which TS ration cards are issued. Each of these cards entitles the cardholder to specific rights. These are:
AFSC: These cardholders can draw 2kg wheat in Municipal Corp/ 1kg wheat in Municipalities @Rs 7 per kg, 35kg of rice @ Rs 1 per kg, 1kg sugar @ Rs 13.5 per kg and1kg salt @ Rs 5 per kg.

Antyodaya Anna Yojana Cards: These cardholders can draw 2kg wheat in Municipal Corp/ 1kg wheat in Municipalities @Rs 7 per kg, 10kg of rice free of cost and1kg salt @ Rs 5 per kg.

FSC cards: These cardholders can draw 2kg wheat in Municipal Corp/ 1kg wheat in Municipalities @Rs 7 per kg, 6kg of rice @ Rs 1 per kg and1kg salt @ Rs 5 per kg.

Non-LPG Cardholders in all three categories are eligible to draw a maximum of 2 liters of Kerosene oil in Municipal Corporations, Municipalities & Mandal Headquarters or 1 liter of Kerosene oil in rural areas @ Rs 23 per liter.

LPG/Deepam Cardholders can draw 1 liter of kerosene oil at the same price.
The color of the Telangana ration card depends on the type of ration card. A white ration card is given to people above the poverty line while people with an income below the poverty line will a coloured ration card.

Any resident of Telangana is eligible for a TS ration card. Other eligibility criteria for a ration card in Telangana are:
· The individual should not already hold a ration card
· He/she should belong to an economically weaker section of society to avail government benefits

Applicants must prove their eligibility when applying for a TS ration card. The main documents required when applying for a ration card in Telangana are:
·  Copy of Telangana State Domicile certificate
·  Copy of the applicant’s Aadhaar card
·  Applicant’s recent passport photograph
·  Proof of age
·  Income certificate
These documents must be submitted along with the application for a Telangana ration card.

The process of applying for a TS ration card is partially online and partially offline. The form for a ration card in Telangana can be downloaded from the website but it must be submitted in person along with the supporting documents.

Once you have downloaded the Telangana ration card application form, it must be printed out and filled. This can then be submitted to the nearest MeeSeva Center.

The main steps of applying for a TS ration card are:

Step 2: Navigate to Application forms>Civil services> Application for New Food Security Card
Step 3:  Print the form and enter your particulars
Step 4: Submit the application for a new Telangana ration card along with the supporting documents to the nearest MeeSeva center.
A ration card in Telangana is usually processed in 30 days.

You can’t apply for a Telangana ration card online. However, you can download the application form online and it must be submitted in person at a MeeSeva Center.

You can check your EPOS Telangana ration card status online at the official ration card website. The key steps to check TS ration card status are:
Step 1: Visit the official website: https://epds.telangana.gov.in/FoodSecurityAct/
Step 2: Select the first option: FSC Search
Step 3: When you hover over the Ration Card Status button, two options will appear- FSC Search and FSC Application Search. If your ration card has been approved, click on the first option, else, select the second option.
Step 4: Enter your New/Old Ration Card number or FSC number and click on the Search button

The steps to link a mobile phone number with a ration card in Telangana are:
Step 1: Visit the official website: https://epds.telangana.gov.in/FoodSecurityAct/
Step 2: Select SMS Registration
Step 3: Enter your mobile number and name. Select your state, district, Mandal, FPShop number and Beneficiary category from the drop-down menus. Click on the Submit button.

You will need to visit your PDS shop to link your Aadhaar card with ration card in Telangana. Carry your TS ration card and a copy of your Aadhaar card. Biometric authentication through your fingerprint will be needed to confirm your identity after which the Aadhaar card and Ration card will be linked.

There are currently no provisions for Telangana ration card download. Once approved, you can collect your food security card from the MeeSeva center.

When a person linked to your ration card dies, their name must be deleted from your ration card in Telangana. The key steps for TS ration card member deletion are
Step 1: Visit https://ts.meeseva.telangana.gov.in/meeseva/home.htm
Step 2: Hover over Other Links and click on Government Forms from the drop-down menu

Step 3: Click on Civil Supplies
Step 4: Click on Deletion of Member in Ration Card Application Form. The form will be downloaded to your computer. Print and fill in the details.
Step 5: Submit the application along with documentary proof for the need of deleting the individual’s name to the nearest MeeSeva Center.
